Former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has renewed his commitment to human capital development with the successful departure and arrival of another batch of beneficiaries from Abia North in the People’s Republic of China for specialized training.
Kalu disclosed that the beneficiaries arrived safely in China to commence intensive capacity-building programmes designed to equip them with practical skills, global exposure and technical knowledge that will enhance their personal development and contribute to national growth.
The lawmaker described investment in human capital as the most sustainable form of empowerment, stressing that education and skills acquisition remain critical to unlocking the enormous potential of young Nigerians.
”I have always believed that the most enduring form of empowerment is investing in people. By exposing our young men and women to quality education, practical skills and global best practices, we are preparing them to become innovators, entrepreneurs and leaders who will contribute meaningfully to the development of our communities and our nation,” Kalu said.
He noted that the overseas training programme forms part of his broader intervention aimed at strengthening education, promoting capacity building and creating opportunities for youths across Abia North to compete favourably in an increasingly globalized economy.
According to him, the initiative reflects his firm commitment to equipping the next generation with the knowledge, competence and international exposure required to drive sustainable development in Abia North and Nigeria.

Kalu congratulated the latest beneficiaries on their selection and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunity by acquiring valuable knowledge and practical experience that would benefit their communities upon their return.
