Almost every political leader in Abia State has, in one way or another, benefited from the political foundation, mentorship and opportunities created by His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (OUK), the Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District in the National Assembly and former Governor of Abia State.
OUK’s greatest political legacy goes beyond occupying public office. He has demonstrated a consistent commitment to human-capital development, empowerment and mentorship, particularly among young people.
Over the years, he has supported youths through mentorship, skills acquisition, capacity-building programmes, sponsorship for training and educational opportunities abroad, as well as financial support and startup capital for aspiring entrepreneurs.
This is what distinguishes a true empowerment strategist from a politician whose influence ends with elections.
OUK has invested in people. He has helped build men and women who have gone on to become relevant in business, politics, leadership and community development.
As Abia North looks towards 2027, the people deserve representation that understands that sustainable development is not only about roads and buildings, but also about building human beings who can build institutions, businesses and communities.
Ndi Abia North are indeed fortunate to have a tested political leader like Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, whose experience, networks and understanding of governance can be deployed to deliver even more purposeful representation anchored on human-capital development, infrastructure, economic empowerment and shared prosperity.
The choice before Abia North in 2027 should therefore be about more than politics. It should be about continuity, experience, capacity and the empowerment of the next generation.
