…Says his influence has inspired defections of governors, lawmakers, and key political figures to the APC
The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), the apex socio-political youth organization in the South East geopolitical zone, has lauded Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District, as the most respected political leader in the region.
In a statement signed by its President General, Comrade Goodluck Ibem on Wednesday, COSEYL praised Senator Kalu for his unwavering commitment to democratic advancement, regional development, and the empowerment of the Igbo people.
According to the statement, Senator Kalu has consistently demonstrated exceptional courage and dedication in the service of his people and the nation.
The group highlighted that his selfless investments and sacrifices for the political emancipation of Ndigbo stand as a testament to his enduring patriotism and leadership.
“Senator Kalu has remained a relentless advocate for the Igbo people and Nigerian democracy. Despite the many challenges he faced including the revocation of his airline license by former President Olusegun Obasanjo due to his principled political stance he never compromised his values,” the statement read in part.
COSEYL described Kalu as a symbol of resilience and statesmanship, noting that his consistent pursuit of justice, equity, and good governance has earned him deep respect across the political spectrum.
The group also credited Senator Kalu’s political influence as a major factor behind the wave of defections of opposition governors, lawmakers, and prominent political figures in the South East to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“His political acumen and bridge-building capacity have repositioned the South East within the national political structure,” COSEYL added. “Senator Kalu’s leadership has created a new sense of unity and inclusion for our people.”
Reaffirming its admiration and support, COSEYL concluded by describing Senator Kalu as a hero of democracy and a beacon of hope for the younger generation.
“We proudly recognize Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as the most respected political leader in the South East. His sacrifices and steadfast commitment to the people continue to inspire millions,” the statement concluded.
