Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has been officially listed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Abia North Senatorial District in the 2027 general election, as the electoral body published the names of the party’s senatorial candidates for Abia State.
According to the official INEC publication on the submission of names of candidates by political parties, the former Abia State Governor and serving Senator will seek another term to represent Abia North in the National Assembly.
The commission also published the name of Emeka Atuma as the APC candidate for Abia Central Senatorial District, while Prince Paul Ikonne was confirmed as the party’s candidate for the Abia South Senatorial District.
The candidates were contained in INEC’s official document titled “Submission of Names of Candidates by Political Parties 2027 Senatorial District Election,” which formally recognizes the APC’s nominees for the forthcoming polls.
The publication marks another significant milestone in the build up to the 2027 general elections as political parties conclude the submission of candidates for elective offices in line with the electoral timetable.
With the release of the candidates’ names, political activities are expected to intensify across Abia State as parties prepare for campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections.
