Former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, on Tuesday evening paid a courtesy visit to the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama, at the Archbishop’s residence in Abuja.
The Senate Committee chairman ,South East Development Commission described the engagement as deeply inspiring, noting that his conversation with the Archbishop further strengthened his dedication to the values of peace, compassion, service and nation-building.
“This evening, I was honored to visit my faith leader, the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, Bishop Ignatius Kaigama, at his residence,” Kalu wrote after the visit. “Our conversation strengthened my commitment to the values of peace, compassion, and service.”
The former Senate Chief Whip emphasized that his political and personal decisions continue to be guided by his Christian faith and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
“As a devoted Christian, I remain guided by my belief in God and the teachings of the Church. I appreciate the Archbishop’s counsel and will continue working for the good of our people, now and in future,” he added.
The visit is seen as part of Kalu’s ongoing consultations with religious and community leaders as he continues to advocate for unity, responsible leadership, and renewed public trust in governance.
Kalu ended his message with hashtags highlighting his long-standing message of perseverance and optimism in national affairs.
