
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Southeast Development Commission SEDC, His Excellency Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and his wife, Her Excellency Mrs. Ifunanya Uzor Kalu on Wednesday, 9th July, 2025 played host to the Ambassador of Brazil to Nigeria, His Excellency, Mr. Carlos Garcete and his wife, Her Excellency, Mrs Carla Seminario in Abuja.
The special visit took place at the Presidential Villa, abode of the former Governor of Abia State, this evening at exactly 7:00 pm Nigerian time. The ambassador who came in with his beautiful wife, highly elated, was warmly welcomed by the international business mogul, Kalu, who showed them around his well curated palace with serene ambience that speaks class.
After a sumptuous dinner with assorted cuisines and well brewed wines, Mr. Carlos exchanged pleasantries with Sen. Kalu and his wife, presented a gift to his host. Reciprocating, Sen. Kalu thanked Mr. Carlos and his wife for finding time to come to his presidential Villa abode. “My wife and I are grateful for finding time to pay us this visit. Moving forward, we look forward to recreating such meaningful and engaging memories that will be gainful to both Nigeria and Brazil” Kalu said.
According to a post made public via his Facebook page, Kalu wrote that the discussions dwelled on ways of causing more robust revelation of the major challenges confronting the both countries, while they further discussed ways of discovering key solutions that will be of immense benefits to the two nations, while yielding positive intercontinental economic growth, a win-win for all.
“My wife and I are grateful for the visit of the Brazilian Ambassador to Nigeria , H.E Mr Carlos Garcete and his wife, H. E Mrs. Carla Seminario at our Abuja residence tonight . We had a productive conversations. The discussions we held today are crucial for fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges facing our country and for identifying potential solutions and partnerships.” Kalu noted.
You will recall that these developments demonstrate the growing relationship between Nigeria and Brazil and have also strengthened their international relations through various agreements and diplomatic meetings. These engagements could benefit both countries through cultural exchange, agriculture, infrastructure, trade and investment, energy and strategic dialogue.
